Probably it belonged to one of the Canadian Geese that migrate here every year for warmer winters, but it might have belonged to Balkind; he often flits between our world and Ella Earth. And I remembered that although title three in the Griffin Riders' Chronicles is still to be told, the first chapter starts with a mini adventure that's complete in itself, and since it is Christmas, you can read it here, or download if you prefer. Three days before Christmas, hedonist MP Henry Drayton-Maye invites a handsome stranger home for dinner. However, his new acquaintance is an escaped convict with devious intentions. Alerted by an anonymous phone call, the police discover Henry shackled to his bed. The possessions reported stolen are soon recovered, and although the convict has fled the country, apart from Henry’s reputation, there appears to be no harm done. Months later, the convict's ex-partner in crime, Rex Raven, is found dead inside his locked study. The verdict is suicide. But then Rex's teenage daughter disappears, along with a mysterious Scandinavian youth. To find the missing teenagers, Detective Inspector Crombie must first untangle a web of intrigue woven around family secrets and is furious to discover that even his superiors have deceived him. A Guide to Ballet Class by Charlie PlunkettCharlie Plunkett's True Diaries made me laugh and also brought a lump to my throat, as I shared her real life adventures; starting with not one but two weddings - to the same Prince Charming, in True Diary of a Bride to be; followed by True Diary of a Mum to be, and ending (although the adventure continues) with The True Diary of Baby's First Year. Throughout all three diaries, Charlie's zest for life, and in particular her love for ballet shines through. In between writing and publishing five chart topping titles, Charlie also enthusiastically teaches ballet in her home town, Brighton. Charlie's Facebook page is filled with images of her students, who are all ages and who are all obviously enjoying their ballet lessons. Like many young girls I too wanted to be a ballerina and took ballet classes, so I really envy Charlie's lucky students! However, Charlie's now published a guide to ballet, titled, A Guide to Ballet Class, so there's no excuse anymore not to get those ballet pumps on - even if you've never had a ballet lesson before, this easy to follow guide starts from the beginning, so if you didn't even know how to place your feet in first position, grab a copy of this book and be enlightened - ballet's an excellent form of exercise too, and excellent for improving and maintaining posture. And of course, A Guide to Ballet Class is written in Charlie's inimitable style, so her instructions are not only easy to follow, but will also bring a smile to your face, and will also provide a wonderful Christmas gift for any student or would be student of this lovely dance form. To complement this excellent guide, Charlie also has her own Youtube channel, where she demonstrates just how to look graceful, exercise and have a ball(et) all at the same time. A Guide to Ballet Class; a practical and light hearted look at the wonderful world of ballet, by Charlie Plunkett. With over 25 years experience, ballet teacher Charlie Plunkett guides you through a ballet class. With her lighthearted and practical approach you will learn everything you need to know. Charlie shares tips on how to improve your posture and flexibilty. Gives a step by step guide to all the exercises you will encounter in a ballet class and explains the French terminology. Everything is delivered in an easy to read, fun way and there is a strong emphasis on learning to do ballet for the joy of it over pure technique. A must read for all budding ballet fans. REVIEW by "Bookedin" This is a beautifully presented book. A sweet little handbook for ballet enthusiasts, with the technical jargon kept to a minimum and a chatty, smooth narrative throughout. Professionally done and highly recommended. (five stars). Available to order now from Amazon for only £5.90, click on the image to be taken to the product page. to get acquainted with Alfie the fish and chip loving alligator - don't miss out! As an added bonus, the first chapter of Everybody Lies, the new Detective Crombie murder mystery follows An Explosive Time.
As promised, An Explosive Time is now free. It's a light hearted romp through London as Detective Inspector Crombie hunts down a missing circus elephant, grows fonder than he should of an apathetic alligator, and discovers why you really shouldn't trust a man who keeps more than three pigs. An Explosive TimeWhen a circus elephant goes missing on Detective Inspector Crombie's watch, he immediately thinks of Celtic Cousins Wren and Rhyllann, who have to his mind made a career out of being the collective bane of his existence. And his instincts are correct: the cousins HAVE been up to something--but when Crombie finds out what it is and why, he runs into resistance not only from his immediate superiors, but also from the corridors of power in Whitehall itself. Described by one reviewer as a "Masterful British Thriller" this is the third and shortest of the Celtic Cousins Adventures, and contains adult humour and some strong language. Especially when an unsuspecting Rhyllann discovers what's lurking in his bathroom! An Explosive Time starts with a fatal explosion; the action comes thick and fast, and Crombie will need all his wits about him to prevent his world - and London town - going supernova. Available to download for free until Midnight Monday, from all Amazon on-line stores, including .com & .co.uk sites. This little slice of festive fun is still number one in Amazon's free short story chart. I'm amazed and very grateful to everyone who downloaded this short sweet Christmas story. In common with most writers, I've got a sadistic streak wider than a zebra crossing - as regular readers may have noticed - and the agony is piled on poor Crombie. Will he escape the Italian equivalent of the House of Usher and make it home for Christmas? Could even an author be that cruel to one of their favourite characters? C'mon - it is Christmas! Crombie's Christmas free promo continues to run until midnight Thursday, when the new title Everybody Lies should (River Gods willing) be available to download at a special early bird price of 99p, around 99 cents. Still Watching the Detectives?!The madhouse adventure An Explosive Time is up for grabs next! That's two freebies and a brand new Crombie murder mystery for your kindle. Anyone would think it was Christmas! More details tomorrow, promise. It's a little bit of a madhouse here at the moment!
